Input Shaft Solid Sealing Ring Resize Tool Kit For Ford 10R80 Auto

These tools are designed to expand and compress the Teflon sealing rings used on the Ford 10R80 automatic transmission input shaft.

Included tools:

• Large-ring input shaft resizers

• Small-ring input shaft resizers

Expanding the ring:
Use your fingers to guide the Teflon ring onto the expander, sliding it down until the small end of the compression tool can rest against the ring. Press the ring evenly down the length of the expander with the compression tool until the tool begins to grip the expander. Then remove the tool, take off the ring, and check whether it has expanded enough to be installed. If not, repeat the steps.

Installing and resizing the ring:
After placing the ring into its groove, gently use your fingers to seat it. Then slide the compression tool over the ring to size it back down. Move the tool slowly and make sure the ring doesn’t fold or pop out of its groove. The gaps in the tool allow you to visually confirm the ring’s position. Lightly squeeze the flared end of the tool to help keep the ring aligned as you move it further on. If you feel a hard bump, the ring has likely slipped out of place and you’ll need to remove the tool, inspect the ring, and start again.

Installation order:
Install the rings starting from the grooves farthest from the end of the input shaft and work your way outward. This helps prevent interference with rings that were already installed.
